 I am such a sucker for Catholic iconography. I’m not a Catholic, my Dad’s side of the family were all Catholic, but I was raised in more of a Protestant environment. I don’t know how or why that relates to it at all because I think it purely boils down to a simple visual appreciation. I always loved how Baz Luhrmann used it in his adaption of Romeo + Juliet. When I was 11 I made a pillow case with a very intricate ‘milagro’ for a Home-Ec project, so it’s been a fixation for quite some time.

Brief Encounter, Gregory Crewdson

I want to be in this scene right now.

Crewdson is not on my favourite photographer of all time, but he’s my favourite artist and his ‘Beneath the Roses’ series is what made me want to be a photographer. Everything about his images is perfect, the only visuals I’ve ever seen that are PERFECT. :)
